Hi, I'm Claire.
I'm a Registered Dietitian, Lifestyle Medicine Professional, and Positive Psychology Coach.

I help people take a practical, informed approach to their health – whether they want to age well, reduce their risk of future illness or address existing concerns. Through nutrition, lifestyle medicine and coaching, I help them turn understanding into lasting changes, so they have the health, energy and confidence to live the life they want.

My route into this work hasn’t been a straight line.

I began my career as a children’s nurse before stepping away from healthcare to raise my family. As a mum of six, life was busy, joyful, chaotic and full of the same competing demands that so many people face when they’re trying to look after everyone else before themselves.

Later, I returned to study and qualified as a dietitian, working within the NHS in community and diabetes services before moving into education and lifestyle medicine.

Over the years, I became increasingly interested in a question that nutrition advice alone couldn’t answer:

"Why is lasting change so difficult, even when we know what we should be doing?"

That question led me to further training in lifestyle medicine, behaviour change and coaching.

But it also led me to my own journey.

Like many people in midlife, I’ve spent the last decade learning more about what it means to live well. Along the way, I’ve become increasingly fascinated by what really drives behaviour – not just what people do, but why they do it, and why lasting change can feel so difficult.

I’ve learned that health isn’t built through perfection.

It’s built through the everyday choices, environments, relationships and beliefs that quietly shape our lives.

I’ve also come to realise that midlife can be a turning point. As children become more independent or leave home, we may have more space to rediscover our own interests and think about what we want from life. At the same time, seeing our parents develop health problems can bring questions about our own future into sharper focus. Together, these experiences can prompt us to consider how we want to live the next chapter – and what we can do now to support the health that will help us enjoy it.

That’s why I created Rooted Health.

Rooted Health brings together evidence-based nutrition, lifestyle medicine and coaching to help people age well, reduce their risk of future illness and improve their health where possible.

Because lasting health begins beneath the surface

And because it’s never too late to create a healthier future.
